Committees
Plano activities are coordinated by a number of key committees that oversee operations. Committees report to Governors and may only act on their authority.
Steering Committee
The Plano Steering Committee is responsible for the overall governance and coordinating the strategic direction of Plano, and for delivering accountable performance in accordance with the DAO goals and objectives, as set out in the Plano DAO Constitution.
This includes overseeing all proposals submitted to the DAO; preparing, promoting, and managing proposals which require voting; and reporting and publishing all vote outcomes.
For the first two epochs, the Steering Committee will be composed of Plano founders as well as any additional members that they vote to appoint.
Risk Intelligence Committee
Plano operates in multiple jurisdictions with quickly evolving sets of regulations regarding blockchain-based tools. The Risk Intelligence Committee is tasked with ensuring that Plano remains compliant with existing regulation and can look ahead to take advantage of new regulations likely to emerge in the future.
This committee will be founded by the Steering Committee who will assume responsibility for finding suitable members to serve on this committee, subject to a vote by Governors.
Treasury Committee
Plano will establish a treasury to collect, manage and disperse funds pursuant to the goals of the DAO. This treasury will be managed by the Treasury Committee. It is the responsibility of this committee to set monetary policy, track contribution, allocate rewards, manage investments and diversification, report results, and ensure the financial health of the DAO.
This committee will be founded by the Steering Committee who will assume responsibility for finding suitable members to serve on this committee, subject to a vote by Governors.
Elections
Committee members are elected by a vote of Governors and serve a term of one Epoch, which is defined as a period of 12 months. Details and processes relating to elections will be included in the Plano DAO Constitution that will be made publicly available.
If a vote to elect a new committee fails, the existing committee members may stay in place until a new committee member is appointed to replace them.
Community DAOs
Community DAOs are independent DAOs established to govern and operate a community. While Plano believes that this will be a common model for uses of Plano services, it is not necessary to be a DAO in order to use Plano. A community may elect to organize themselves differently and in turn elect to use only a portion of Plano services. Such activities are possible.
When a DAO is used to operate a community, the community will typically appoint a Council to manage the operations of the community. This council will be appointed by Governors, who as with Plano, are token holders who possess voting powers.
In turn, councils will appoint Managers who will be responsible for the daily operations of the community. It is these managers who will likely interface directly with the Plano platform.
