# Acquiring Governance Tokens

As an asset, PLANO is a low velocity, long term store of value that incentivizes governance of PlanoDAO and its economy over the long term.

PLANO can be acquired in the following ways:

* **Primary Issuance**: The DAO may directly sell PLANO to potential governors
* **Secondary Markets**: Can be bought and sold on secondary markets, but come with a finite variety of lockup/vesting schedules
* **Marketing**: Actively attracting new members to the DAO or usage of the Platform.
* **Governance participation**: Staking in the DAO and being active or by completing certain governance functions
* **Meta-economics Rewards**: Liquidity provision on AMMs and other DeFi entities
